Hello my name is Crystal the Owl and I live in the garden of Park Bottom B&B in Litton, Littondale right in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
I was named after Crystal Beck that runs through Litton.
Unfortunately I developed Ash Dieback, like a lot of my fellow Ash trees in Littondale; and I have had to be cut down as I was deemed a hazard and could have fallen onto the road. I was cut down at the beginning of November 2020 by a brilliant tree surgeon, Colin Moses, who had to climb up me to make sure I fell safely.
Colin left me with a large stump as Phillip & Jane at Park Bottom had decided that they wanted me to become a wooden sculpture.
Work began by Shane Green (www.yorkshirecarver.com) on Friday 27 November 2020 to transform me and 3 days later on Sunday 29 November 2020 I was reborn as this beautiful owl and I was named Crystal after many suggestions for names were put forward by the Littondale community and friends.

I really love my position in the garden of Park Bottom B&B as I can look at the views of lovely Littondale and I can even see the Queens Arms pub. I very much enjoy watching the comings and goings of the people of Littondale and all the visitors to the Dale.
